Foley Sound

Foley sound is the use of every day sound used In film making to improve the audio and create a better image of the world the movie is set in. Foley sound effects are added to the movie during post production. This can be anything from:
  • creaking doors
  • footsteps
  • doors opening and slamming
  • glass breaking
Hunger
During class we watched the movie hunger, as previously said silence was a huge part in the film to create different emotions and most of all to heighten and emphasise every other sound. However a lot of Foley sound was used throughout the extract, for instance the sound of creaking doors, heavy breathing and bath water swishing.

My movie opening
Foley sound is something I would like to incorporate into my film opening to improve the audio quality and make it more interesting. Due to my film being a romantic crime, the Foley sounds you may expect to hear would be guns shots and loud footsteps.
