Certificate ratings
U rating- u rating is suitable for everyone, meaning there is no bad language, sex or drug references.
PG rating- Means general viewing, however few scenes may be unsuitable for young children under 8.
12 rating- This rating means film should not be viewed by children under 12, moderate language may be used and moderate sex refrences.
15 rating- No one younger than 15 can see a 15 rating film in a cinema. Strong language and sexual references can be used and drug use however not promoting or encouraging in anyway.
18 rating- no one younger than 18 can see this rating in a cinema, strong and language and sex references are used often throughout the film.
My film opening
Mine and Lauren's film opening will most likely be in the 15 category. My target audience is a 17 year old girl therefore she is more likely to watch a film within the 15 certificate. Due to our film being a crime strong language may be used in particular instants.
